Indian Whisky

Indian whisky is made primarily from grain (mostly barley, wheat, and corn), although a few expressions use molasses, as well. This whisky is produced through the same basic process as any other whisky: mashing, fermentation, distillation, aging in oak casks, and finally bottling.

What sets Indian whisky apart, though, is the environment. The hot, dry climate of India accelerates the maturation process. With higher temperatures and humidity, whisky absorbs more from the cask in a shorter time, which leads to more intense flavours and a quicker aging process compared to whisky from cooler climates.
